“I don’t know what to talk about, should I still come to counselling?” Yes! Counsellors are good at asking questions to help you get started and to figure out what to work on. You don’t have to “start” in a certain place, starting anywhere works. The first few sessions are about getting to know each other and unpacking what your needs are.
“I’ve been to counselling before, it didn’t work”: I am sorry to hear that, it’s important to have the right fit. Look through blurbs on sites like TalkingWorks where you can compare a bunch of people in one place and get a feel for the sorts of Counsellors you are drawn to. Then narrow it down with the filters to ascertain a few potential people you can contact in terms of in-person or online sessions, region, availability and affordability. And if it’s not right, either talk to the person to see if they can work a slightly different way or look for someone new.
Availability: As at June 2025, I have a full caseload and am unable to take on any new one-to-one clients, however, please keep an eye out for my therapeutic workshops.
Payment: Payment is welcomed at the session by internet banking (preferred) or cash.
Wellness: If you are unwell with Covid-19, cold or flu symptoms, please stay home. If you are up to talking we can arrange an alternate method such as phone or an online session.
I am mindful of my own well-being and actively make healthy choices, including letting you know if I am unwell and in need of postponing an appointment. I operate as per guidelines for allied health professionals.
Christmas Closure: I take 5-6 weeks over summer in order to reset. I will be on leave from mid December 2025 to late January 2026 (specific dates will be confirmed closer to the time).
